Celebrity Traitors Finale Accidentally Uploaded 24 Hours Early Outside the UK
Note: This article avoids spoilers related to the series conclusion
This concluding episode of the star-studded version of The Traitors was mistakenly made available by overseas distributors before its scheduled UK airing on Thursday night, according to a network statement.
It is understood that the finale was viewed by a few hundred subscribers of the online platform Crave in Canada; they could view it for a couple of hours before it was removed.
This installment being released was not considered a error by the producing network, and a representative for the corporation urged those who believe they know the result of the show to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".
"We kindly ask anyone who believes they have uncovered the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves," the announcement read.
"We ask you to refrain from posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every development of the show can experience the final this night."
This celebrity version is currently the most-watched TV show of the current year, with an average of 12.6 million people across the first four episodes.
Fans of the show have been waiting to see whether traitors the traitors will secure the £100,000 for charity or whether faithfuls the faithful contestants will be triumphant.
A former winner of the third season of the show stated that "no one likes reveals", which are "joy's enemy".
The winner said he will be sitting down to watch the final tonight as it airs, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday night's concluding installment is lengthened to 70 minutes on BBC One, with an extended edition of The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked scheduled to broadcast on the secondary channel following the finale.
Host Ed Gamble will be accompanied by the contestants and the co-host as they react to the series conclusion.
