New Particulars Surface Concerning the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely demises of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

According to a report referencing a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her promptly called 911. Subsequently, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now in custody without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to reports of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
