Spurs Boss Frank Calls Vicario Critics 'Not Genuine Fans'
Fulham Begin Powerfully to Beat Tottenham and Increase Pressure on the Manager
Tottenham Hotspur fans who jeered goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "they can't be true Tottenham fans" by manager Frank.
Tottenham conceded two scores in the opening six minutes to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their tenth Premier League home loss of the year.
But the main talking point was Fulham's next score when Vicario gave away possession well outside his box.
The goalkeeper came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball near the sideline.
But, instead of kicking it into touch, the Italy international spun and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was collected by Josh King.
King laid the ball off to Welsh midfielder Wilson, who bent a strike into the goal from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.
Seconds later when the ball went to the keeper again, some Tottenham fans jeered him.
Spurs were jeered off at the interval, with the side 2-0 down, and once more at the final whistle.
A particular of those booing sessions truly angered the manager.
"I heard a few of our supporters apparently booed the situation and jeered after, which, in my view is completely unacceptable," the Dane commented regarding the fans' response to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals cannot be real Tottenham fans that act that way. Fair enough booing after the match, no problem, but when we are in play, we are supporting one another, we are behind one another going forward."
Kenny Tete had handed Fulham a fourth-minute advantage before Harry Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Spurs in an better second period performance.
Former Premier League goalkeeper Hart stated that the next score was "completely avoidable".
"I certainly understand the fans' disappointment," Hart added. "I know the role Vicario is playing. He is a great squad member, he is a real figure in the dressing room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your actions.
"The keeper was heavily involved in what turned out to be the winning goal."
'It's Part of Football, I Can Handle It'
Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Match
Italian international Vicario is in his third season with Spurs.
The 29-year-old said after the match that he had to accept the criticism.
"That goal was a error of my own, I take accountability for that," he said.
"My aim was to kick the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a bad way. That made an even bigger challenge to overcome."
He stated being booed "comes with the game".
"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he continued. "We can't be influenced by the circumstances in the stands. Supporters have the entitlement to do what they think.
"It is on us to remain increasingly calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are lacking in composure and calmness to reverse outcomes. Today is a bad defeat and it is tough to accept."
'It Shocked Me No One Returned to the Goal Line'
In spite of Vicario's mistake, it was far from an simple score for Wilson to score.
In fact it was the next longest-range top division score of the campaign – after Tyler Adams' forty-three point three metre strike for Bournemouth against Sunderland, which incidentally also came on Saturday.
The goalscorer said he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an empty net to aim for.
Ten moments passed between the keeper exiting of his box and Wilson shooting – which was five seconds after the kick.
"I felt like the goalkeeper was away from the box for ages," Wilson remarked.
"I was surprised not one of the back four returned to the goal line. When not one of them covered the goal, my eyes sparked a bit.
"[Destiny] Udogie fell as well, which allowed me a little additional opportunity. Then it was all about trying to achieve the right connection and place it on target. I felt a positive feeling, the moment it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

Booing While We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unacceptable - the Manager
While Vicario's error led coverage, this was an all-round bad performance for Tottenham to continue their home struggles.
The match was their 10th at home loss of 2025 in the league, a joint team record matching 1994 and 2003.
They still have home games against Frank's old side the Bees and title holders Liverpool to come before the close of the season.
Only one of those wins have come since Frank replaced his predecessor in the off-season.
"When you're down 2-0 following six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.
"During in a bad spell, all aspects appears to work against you too – the opening was a redirected attempt, the second is a mistake from the keeper.
"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost another game. Every game has a unique story, today we lost in the early stages.
"We simply need to keep working. The later period was much better and with luck an aspect we can use to learn."
Spurs have lost 4 consecutive home capital clashes for the initial time in the top division.
Furthermore they are averaging nine point five shots and three point two shots on target per game in the Premier League – their lowest averages on file in a single campaign (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Former Fulham midfielder Murphy stated that Frank has to ride the storm.
"He must take the stick," Murphy said. "He's taken a high profile role at a huge team with massive expectation. There is scrutiny and duty that accompanies that.
"The performances at home have been disappointing and they have to get better {quickly|
