The young full-back A further assured performance by the youngster following his first cap against Serbia. Saka failed to make the opportunity from a gorgeous backheel behind their defense. The left-back spot is firmly his already. 7/10

The newcomer His maiden beginning with the national team. Somewhat sloppy on the ball though his whipped corners caused problems. An effective tempo-setter available to the manager to utilize against teams who drop deep. Shown a yellow for a poorly timed challenge. 6

Declan Rice Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays created chances. Had freedom to drift in left midfield yet found himself offside when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Granted a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced role down the right and put in dirty work. Showed glimpses of brilliance but mishit an attempt high. Replaced late on for Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his effort well saved by the Albanian keeper. With Quansah staying deep, he had to stretch the play out wide but his crosses into the box varied in quality. Taken off with 15 to go. 6/10

The captain The match-winner netting seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals at international level. His first a typical close-range tap-in while the second an excellent header following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him leading the line. 8/10

The attacker Had difficulty to get into the game out wide. Had a good opening when set up by Bellingham however Strakosha denied him. His replacement had a greater influence in his place. Five
