The Ideal Pokémon Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign

The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the community. From the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the title's launch, to players forming strong opinions on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique designs that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and enjoy a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed love of treats. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Observe this total queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, offering an constant fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Gemini.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate sign known for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to make a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Oh, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being too fabulous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a show, albeit for aliens.

Virgo – Super Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.

The Scales – Super Audino

Observe this sweet, sensitive creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to worry more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became sentient through sheer hatred and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. As a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to consistently believe they’re correct. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Detached air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is most like a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame category fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s description says it “draws in hatred and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
