Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to morph into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.

This performer is joined by multiple new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as head the main antagonist, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.
